Gilmore & Bell, P.C., a leading public finance law firm, is pleased to announce the expansion of its affordable housing finance practice and real estate finance expertise with the addition of five seasoned attorneys from the law firm of Robinson+Cole. Leading the team are Patrick Evatt and Robert Kearbey, who will join the firm as directors.
Patrick brings over 25 years of legal experience in affordable housing and community development. A former Associate General Counsel for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, he has developed a nationally recognized affordable housing finance practice representing institutional lenders and credit enhancers. He has served as bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel and borrower’s counsel in a variety of tax-exempt and taxable financings for multifamily housing and community development projects.
Rob has spent more than 20 years in the affordable housing industry, representing lenders and others in developing and executing multidisciplinary financing transactions. He previously served as in-house counsel for Freddie Mac, where he led teams in the design and implementation of several new products and developments in the affordable space. Throughout his career, Rob has served as government-sponsored entity counsel, lender’s counsel, bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, trustee’s counsel, and borrower’s counsel in a variety of tax-exempt and taxable transactions within affordable housing, public infrastructure, and community development.
The team of attorneys also includes Sana Din, who joins as Counsel, and Brian Murphy and Hunter Sutterfield who join the firm as associates. These new lawyers increase Gilmore Bell’s public finance practice to a total of 56 attorneys. As part of the transition, Gilmore Bell will establish a physical office in Austin, Texas. With offices now located in six states, Gilmore Bell continues to be one of the largest public finance practices in the country.
